    S2S Secure FAQs

    1.  What is S2S Secure?

    S2S (Server-to-Server) Secure is a connection between software systems that ensures data integrity and mitigates survey fraud by preventing link manipulation/ghost completes and link jumping. S2S Secure will register a respondent as a complete in the PureSpectrum platform by calling an API to register a survey completion. This will stop any respondent from by-passing the survey flow (aka a ghost complete). 

    2. What is a ghost complete?

    Ghost completes are interviews marked as “Complete” in PureSpectrum Marketplace that have not successfully completed the survey. This is typically caused by fraudulent link tampering. As a result of ghost completes, the number of complete status interviews reported in the PureSpectrum platform would be higher than the number of completes reported in the survey. Any ghost completes would need to be reconciled (rejected) in the PureSpectrum platform.

    3. Who can use S2S Secure?

    Any client who is programming and hosts surveys on Forsta Surveys (previously Decipher) then runs those surveys through the PureSpectrum sampling platform can enable this feature. The functionality is available to both DIY and Services clients.

    4. Why should clients use S2S Secure?

    Clients who utilize S2S Secure will experience increased security leading to higher quality respondents and decreased survey fraud.  This will in turn improve data consistency and accuracy eliminating ghost completes and link jumpers. Additionally, S2S Secure will improve your PureSpectrum account health and improve fielding workflow.

    5. Would enabling S2S Secure on a PureSpectrum account affect any other surveys using the same Buyer account? 

    Yes, enabling S2S Secure will apply the security feature to all account surveys. IMPORTANT: If a user is running additional projects not on Forsta Surveys through the PureSpectrum Platform S2S Secure it will NOT apply. Therefore a separate PureSpectrum account will need to be used or created to run those surveys

    6. Can S2S Secure be used if I am using additional sample platforms other than PureSpectrum for my survey?

    Yes, enabling S2S Secure on the PureSpectrum platform will still allow other sample sources to function normally.
